3 students killed, 6 others shot dead at Oxford High School; 15-year suspect in custody – CBS Detroit


(CBS DETROIT) – The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office has announced that it is holding a 15-year-old student in custody following an active shooting at Oxford High School.

Three students were killed and six others were injured, Oakland County Deputy Sheriff Mike McCabe said at a press conference.

Authorities said the first 911 call was made at 12:51 p.m. and the 15-year-old was taken into custody within five minutes.

A handgun was recovered from the suspect after several shots were fired.

One of the six injured was a teacher.

McCabe says several police officers, EMS and SWAT are currently on the scene to conduct another school-wide search.

The students are evacuated by bus and taken to the Meijer parking lot at 655 N. Lapeer Road to find their parents.

Lapeer Schools have also placed all buildings in secure mode due to the situation.

Authorities did not release any information about those injured. Another press conference is scheduled for 5 p.m.
