Fujitsu Enlists Datacom Veteran Rob Purdy to Lead New Zealand Business
Fujitsu has appointed Rob Purdy, former sales manager at Datacom, to the role of national manager for New Zealand, effective today.
Purdy had spent more than 20 years in the New Zealand IT market, including more than 12 with Datacom. He has built a reputation as leading large transformation teams in client engagement, most recently in the government sector.
Prior to his role as a sales representative at Datacom, Purdy established new service lines and built teams in Datacom’s cloud, security and network businesses.
As National Director, he is responsible for helping drive strategic customer and employee engagement and ensuring profitable growth and excellence across all sectors of the industry.
Graeme Beardsell, CEO of Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand, said Purdy’s extensive strategic experience will be instrumental in Fujitsu’s continued commitment to driving engagement, growth and quality of service for customers and employees.

Fujitsu New Zealand reported revenue of $ 161.3 million as of March 31, up from $ 156 million in 2020, while net profit fell from $ 3 million to $ 4.1 million.

“We hadn’t done any acquisitions in the area for 11 years and I thought ‘shame on us’,” he said.
Wellington-based Mika Joronen was appointed Country Manager New Zealand in 2018, as the company shifted from traditional hardware sales to providing digital and cloud services.
Purdy will represent New Zealand on the Fujitsu leadership team and would be a key member of Fujitsu’s customer engagement leadership team, reports Kathy Cakarnis.
