HOUSTON – (BUSINESS WIRE) – Sep 16, 2021–

Kaizen Clean Energy (“KCE”), a leading developer of distributed hydrogen production, today announced that it has licensed Element 1 Corp’s proprietary L-series hydrogen generator technology ( “E1 ®”). Under the terms of the license agreement, KCE has obtained the rights to manufacture and deploy the L series hydrogen generators for distributed charging of battery electric vehicles (EVs), hydrogen production for vehicles Fuel Cell Electric (FCEV) and emergency power generation in the United States.

With proven growth in the electric vehicle industry and increasing interest in hydrogen fuel cell power solutions, KCE has helped align e1 ® hydrogen generators to support multiple markets from ‘a single modular solution. Robert Meaney, Co-CEO and CTO, said: “Unfortunately, grid demand charges, unreliable energy supply and lengthy grid extensions are blocking billions of dollars in investment for one. Wider adoption of electric vehicle charging. Our partnership with e1 ® offers companies an immediate opportunity to adapt, control and decentralize the charging of their electric vehicles and to generate income from the production of hydrogen and the production of electricity when it is not there are no vehicles to recharge.

Dr David Edlund, CEO of e1 ®, said: “e1 ® is delighted and privileged to collaborate with KCE and its strategy to replace aging energy solutions. Our hydrogen production technology licensed to KCE is backed by dozens of patents. Much like when phones were separated from the cord, KCE’s hydrogen generator power solutions will offer an equally disruptive approach to EV charging and separate EV fleet owners from the grid. I anticipate that our relationship with KCE will continue to grow to reduce the cost of recharging electric vehicles and hydrogen. “

E1 ® Hydrogen Generators produce hydrogen from methanol and deliver hydrogen on demand to the point of use, eliminating the need to transport compressed gaseous hydrogen. This greatly reduces the cost of using hydrogen as an energy product. Additionally, this process can be carbon neutral, and in some cases carbon negative, when methanol is produced from renewable raw materials such as captured carbon dioxide or municipal solid waste. KCE is currently developing projects with e1 ® technology for municipalities, refueling, recharging of fleet electric vehicles, hydrogen distribution and hydrogen refueling stations with rapid recharging of electric vehicles.
