Pure Hydrogen’s bus deal could support the hydrogen ecosystem

Pure Hydrogen kicked off the new year with a two-part deal that will see it become a hydrogen supplier and hydrogen bus reseller.

The binding five-year contract sheet with specialist vehicle importer and distributor BLK Auto, which brought Australia’s first hydrogen bus, is another step in the company’s aim to build sufficient critical mass to a hydrogen ecosystem in the country.

This could well be the breakthrough the hydrogen sector needs given that there are many thousands of public transport routes in Sydney alone.

In addition to supplying hydrogen to BLK-Auto, Pure hydrogen (ASX:PH2) will also resell hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles (HFCEV) to its customers.

The two companies are also likely to offer customers the option to purchase HFCEV buses under a “lease with water” model that will be supplied with hydrogen supply.

The agreement, which includes a one-year extension option, will enable the two companies to more effectively meet the Australian transport industry’s growing demand for hydrogen-powered bus and truck fleets and capitalize on the growing demand. of governments and companies with fleet requirements.

“We are delighted to partner with BLK Auto. This term sheet is only the first step in building a hydrogen ecosystem by both parties and providing our potential customers with the widest possible range of vehicles powered by hydrogen,” said general manager Scott Brown.

“In Australia, BLK Auto is known for its hydrogen fuel cell buses and we have a great opportunity to leverage this expertise to the benefit of both companies.”

His BLK counterpart, Jason Pecotic, added that the term sheet lays the foundation for a positive and long-standing partnership between the two companies, which would see the rapid adoption of hydrogen fuel cell electric buses and trucks. in Australia and the East. coast in particular.

“We look forward to finalizing these negotiations in the very short term with a view to achieving our aligned objectives in 2022,” Pecotic added.

Building the Hydrogen Ecosystem

The terms sheet with BLK Auto is just one part of Pure Hydrogen’s overall efforts to play a leading role in the nascent hydrogen industry.

On the mobility front, in November it signed a specification to supply seven HFCEV trucks to AKM Earth with green hydrogen which will be supplied by CAC H2 under its contract. agreement to build three wood waste-to-hydrogen plants on the east coast of Australia.

In December, the company and H2X Global launched a line of hydrogen fuel cell power generation units.
